Meet David LeClaire
David creates a wide variety of exclusive, unique wine events for either small groups or large events. These intimate functions are held in private homes, restaurants, hotels, yachts, or other venues to fit the client’s specific needs and interests. Mr. LeClaire served as wine director at Seattle's prestigious Alexis Hotel & Library Bistro (formerly the Painted Table Restaurant) where he was employed for ten years. David is also the founder of the two largest wine clubs in the Northwest, Seattle Uncorked & Portland Uncorked.
He is often booked for speaking engagements for wine clubs and special events, is an instructor at North Seattle Community College, and often serves as a worldwide "ambassador" for Washington State wineries. Mr. LeClaire serves as a judge for various wine competitions, including Ray's Boathouse "Retrospective" and the annual Seattle Wine Awards, and participates in a wide variety of auctions and galas. A free-lance writer for Wine Squire & NW Stir websites, David is also a new member of The International Food Wine and Travel Writers Association.
David also creates trade shows for wine regions, helping many of the best wineries of California, Washington, & Oregon showcase their wines in cities across America such as Chicago, New Orleans, DC, and Boston. David created events for ZAP in New Orleans, Orlando, Scottsdale and Austin. He also produced events for Wine Yakima Valley in Seattle & Portland, and Grand Tastings for the Paso Robles Wine Alliance in 4 cities, and the Southern Oregon Wine Assoc. in Portland. An entertaining speaker, David is often paid to help auctions generate more money for their charities by working in tandem with auctioneers, bringing their wine-related items to life. Charities and corporations feature David as a keynote speaker or to lead informative yet casual group wine tastings. David's creativity and passion make him a valuable part of the process in creating new events.
Those who attend his memorable events inevitably leave with valuable "real world" information and an increased appreciation for wine. David also works in tendem with many chefs doing wine and food pairing and cooking demo's such as at the NW Women's Show, and does many private events thoughout the year including product launches, festivals, client appreciation events, fundraisers, art openings, and holiday parties!
